On March 19, 2026, an engaging career guidance meeting was held with the ninth-grade pupils of Sumy Secondary School No. 15 (teacher of English and World Literature, Iryna Usik).
The initiator and moderator of the meeting was Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology and Linguodidactics of the Faculty of Foreign and Slavic Philology at Sumy State Pedagogical University, Svitlana ALEKSENKO.
Students of group 341.2 – Anastasiia MIROSHNYCHENKO, Sofiia LEVCHYCH, Anastasiia NATALUKHA and Anna ZABRODA – who are currently undergoing their teaching internship at this school, delivered an informative multimedia presentation about the Faculty of Foreign and Slavic Philology. They also presented in detail the specialties 014 Secondary Education (Language and World Literature (English)) and 035 Philology.
In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere contributed to the pupils’ opportunity to learn about the specifics, advantages and modes of study within these programs at the faculty, as well as to hear firsthand about the experiences of current higher education students. As the oldest pedagogical higher education institution in the Sumy region, Sumy State Pedagogical University harmoniously combines long-standing traditions with modern approaches to teaching foreign languages and cultures in higher education, serving as a true forge of knowledge and teachers of foreign languages alike.
After the presentation, the teaching interns shared interesting facts about the United Kingdom having presented them in an engaging and entertaining format. To create an interactive and lively competitive atmosphere, they then held a quiz based on the presented material using the Kahoot platform.
At the end of the meeting, the school teacher of English I. S. Usik stressed the fact that such informational and career-oriented interactive meetings are extremely important for senior pupils, especially while they are shaping their future career plans. She also expressed hope for continued cooperation between the school and the renowned pedagogical educational institution.
