The international educational project “Sumy Summer Camp 2026” launched

The international educational project “Sumy Summer Camp 2026” launched on May 18, 2026, as part of the Peace Corps Virtual Service Pilot program in Ukraine.

Faculty members from the Department of Foreign Languages, Associate Professors M.M. Chykalova (PhD in Pedagogy) and I.L. Humeniuk (PhD in Philology), are participating in the summer language camp. The project's goal is to help students develop their speaking skills via real communication with a native speaker.

Summer holidays for high school students of the Dmytro Yevdokymov Sumy Regional Academic Lyceum began with a powerful English language "boost" alongside Peace Corps volunteer Gabrielle Inhofe. Two meetings were held this week, focusing on the following topics: “Influencer Culture” and “Space Tourism”. The format was highly interactive, including watching short video clips, learning modern vocabulary, and active topic discussions.

Together with Gabi, the students discussed the "hidden downsides" of internet fame, explored interesting scientific facts about space and other galaxies, and dreamed up their future space travels.

We are convinced that an environment where learning is a "drive" is possible!
