Вишуканість, багатовікові традиції, надмірна правильність та стриманість – такі асоціації виникають у багатьох людей про Велику Британію.
Хтось захоплюється парламентською монархією, для когось – це вже пережиток минулого. 20.11.2023 наші магістранти, члени Cтудентської наукової лабораторії методики навчання іноземних мов і культур, підрозділу Міжуніверситетської науково-дослідної лабораторії сучасних технологій навчання іноземних мов і культур (керівник – к.пед.н., доцент Г.І. Подосиннікова), Аліна ДВОРЯНОВА та Артем ПРЯДКА провели з учнями 11 Г класу Класичної гімназії міста Суми (учитель англійської мови – Пушко І.І., заступник директора гімназії з навчально-виховної роботи) чергове засідання кіноклубу за авторською методикою «Кіноклуб вчителя англійської мови» (керівник Г.І. Подосиннікова) за стрічкою фільмом “The Queen”.
Незважаючи на віддалений історичний та політичний контекст, дискусія була досить жвавою. Окрім перегляду частин фільму та виконання завдань різного типу учні мали змогу висловити свої думки щодо традицій королівської сім’ї, їх ставлення до принцеси Діани, новаторських ідей та сміливих рішень тогочасного прем’єр міністра Тоні Блера. Разом дійшли висновку, що у важкі часи, попри усі чвари, влада має відкинути амбіції та згуртуватися навколо спільної мети, аби зберегти цілісність країни. Заняття сприяло у тому числі формуванню соціокультурної компетентності учнів. Загалом учні висловили багато слів подяки студентам-практикантам за їх підготовку та вибір фільмів, за створення дружньої атмосфери та розширення горизонтів їх знань.
“The film Queen (2006) was chosen at the movie club today. The movie itself was quite interesting, although the vocabulary was rather difficult. I would like to note that today there were more conversational tasks in which we had to express our own thoughts. I think this is good, although because of this we had less time to watch the film itself. All the parts of the film we watched were quite interesting, so we could discuss and express different thoughts, even though I don't like this genre very much” Artur Naumov
“Speaking about our film club, the main thing that I’d like to point out is that it was extremely fascinating to discover some facts about the Queen, the relationships with her surroundings and the situation in the country in general. It appeals to me that we have an opportunity not only to practice English during the film clubs, but also we are broadening our horizons, finding out new historical information!” Darina Kalchenko
“The project “Movie Club” is very interesting for me. It is a really nice idea to prove our English skills. Also, I have learned a lot of new useful words, wich is easier to learn by watching films. “I really enjoyed this week’s movie club. We watched “The Queen”, and I was not familiar with this film before, but I liked it. It tells the story of the UK royal family at the time of death of Princess Diana. It was challenging to watch because members of the royal family spoke English quickly and perfectly so we had to be really attentive. Also the vocabulary was a bit specific: a lot of political terms and authorities were mentioned but it was interesting to learn more about the way British government is organized. The movie was interesting to watch in particular because it showed the family’s reaction to Diana’s death. To my mind, it really unraveled the true character of those people and the fact that the movie is based on real life events and the real royal family made it even more exciting. Tasks for the lesson were interesting, too. They were well balanced: sometimes easy, sometimes challenging and different types of activities were included such as filling the gaps, true/false tasks, “put sentences in correct order” tasks etc. After each extract of the movie we had a discussion. All of us were encouraged to express our thoughts on the film and different questions related to its topic. I enjoyed working with Alina - she was very professional and a real teacher.
